Sexy Summer Saturday 8/4/12

Sexy Summer Saturdays is a weekly post that Hackaroo’s Reviews, Sims-Sational BooksThe Autumn Review, and The Bookish Babe created for fun, to spread the word about sizzling summer reads.

This is a post on a smexy read. Not for under 18 🙂

This week’s books of choice were short stories. Little “tastes” of what’s coming up.

Goodreads Description:

Jaden Thorne is living the dream. Well, not exactly the dream, but her dream—if you call working sixteen-hour days in a hot kitchen a dream, which she does. She’s the executive chef at the hottest new restaurant in Miami Beach, and she’s worked her ass off to get there. When her boss suddenly falls ill, she’s gifted two tickets to the premiere food and wine event of the season. Jaden jumps at the opportunity to network, and with her best friend, Tasha, in tow, she’s soon on a road trip to Sarasota, Florida, for the Winemaker’s Dinner—and a good time.

No Reservations is a short-story prequel to the highly anticipated fictionalized erotic romance The Winemaker’s Dinner: Appetizers by co-authors Dr. Ivan Rusilko and Everly Drummond. No Reservations is an introduction to the romantic heroine in the series, Jaden Thorne, and is written by erotic romance author Everly Drummond.

The Winemaker’s Dinner: Appetizers will be released July 31, 2012.

How did I like it?

Even though this was a short story, I was really captivated and my curiosity was peaked. Drummond did a wonderful job of writing in this short story.

I was afraid I wasn’t going to like this because it was so short but this only whet my…err…umm….appetite (wink). Everly wrote beautifully and has a great sense of humor. I found myself lol’ing quite a bit and read it really quickly. I devoured the words and I didn’t want to stop. 🙂

I can’t wait to start the actual book. Believe me when I say that I will be getting this book as soon as possible.

The other short story was……

Goodreads Description:

Meet Dr. Ivan Rusilko: He’s a doctor at a world-class medical facility in Miami, he’s got a killer apartment on Miami Beach that overlooks Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline, and he’s got a great group of friends and quite the social schedule. It’s a pretty damned charmed life, but something’s missing. He’d love a special someone to share it with—someone to laugh with, share his dreams with, and someone to just plain tickle his fancy. After a string of utterly forgettable blind dates and with no real prospects on the horizon, it’s time to take action. On the long drive from Miami Beach to Sarasota, Florida, for the annual Winemaker’s Dinner, Ivan makes a decision. He’s taking charge of his love life—and his fate.

RSVP is a short-story prequel to the highly anticipated erotic romance The Winemaker’s Dinner: Appetizers by co-authors Dr. Ivan Rusilko and Everly Drummond. RSVP is an introduction to the romantic hero and real-life author Dr. Ivan Rusilko, and it marks the good doctor’s solo writing debut.

“Love is Beautiful” ~ Dr. Ivan

The Winemaker’s Dinner: Appetizers will be released July 31, 2012.

What did I think?

First of all….have you SEEN this author? Dr. Ivan?! If not, then take a few minutes to check out his blog photos. I’ll wait……..

I KNOW RIGHT?!?!

When I heard about this I was a little wary because…well…it just seemed too good to be true. So imagine my shock when this prequel was really good. I was totally surprised.

Now, please, don’t get me wrong, I was only wary because most male authors are not this good looking and that practically sweat sex. I’ve seen cute guy authors, but after seeing this guy….no competition.

*pauses* *drools*

And yes…that is him on the cover.

Ahem….so on with the story.

Even though the main character (which is ultimately Ivan btw) is pretty conceited to me, it was really written well. I like hearing thing and reading them from a guy’s POV but this….well…was a man’s POV. I freaking l-0-v-e-d it.

This book was extremely sexy and fun and it really made me want to buy the actual book.

Favorite Quote:

I wanted beyond anything to wake up more in love with someone than I’d been when I fell asleep, but not as in love as I’d be the next time I drifted off with her in my arms.
