SWOON Thursday 10/11/12

The lovely ladies over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.  Here’s how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

This week’s SWOON is from:

Twitter Approved:

His hands…his kisses were completely undoing me. And when his hand moved down my stomach…

Bloggy Version:

His hands…his kisses were completely undoing me. And when his hand moved down my stomach, slipping even farther down, I opened my eyes, his name barely a whisper. A faint whitish-red glow outlined his body, throwing shadows along the walls of his bedroom. There was something soul-burningly beautiful about being on the brink of losing control, tumbling over into the unknown, and I wanted to fall and never resurface.

What did you think of my SWOON? What’s your SWOON this week? Leave me a comment!

A deep mmm rumbled at the back of his throat. “I know that taste. And I miss it,” he breathed.

Bloggy Version:

He tugged and I released my hold on his fingertip. He raised that finger to his mouth and tasted it. He closed his eyes. A deep mmm rumbled at the back of his throat. “I know that taste. And I miss is,” he breahed.

When he opened his eyes, they were ablaze. I remembered that look. I’d always remember it. It turned my insides to lava and made me forget the world.

~*Happy Birthday Twinsie!!!*~

Today is a special birthday post dedicated to one of my BFFs. This friend of mine is very special to me and a couple of other friends. We call ourselves the POD. Yes, I know it’s silly. But it’s amazing how close we’ve all become over a short amount of time.

So, in our POD, we have Autumn at The Autumn Review, April at Sim Sational Books, Andrea at The Bookish Babe and myself.

Monday is Andrea’s birthday so April, Autumn and myself made a special video dedicated just for her. See, she’s the one who sort of started this incredible bond and she’s become very special to me and us ladies.

Not only is she an awesome blogger (her blog is the shiz btw), but she is a fantastic person and an amazing friend. I’m sure you’ve seen the pervy conversations we’ve had on twitter. They tend to get around on the twitterverse.

So, here is our silly ass video where we all make complete fools of ourselves for Andrea. If you have the time, stop by her blog or tweet her a Happy Birthday because she deserves the best.

Oh, enjoy the video…..feel free to leave comments, we all love them. 😉

Thank you, Twinsie for pulling me out of my twitter shell and becoming one of my very best friends. It really means a lot to me this friendship we have.

Cuz that’s how we roll. 😉

Andrea, you are the Dr. Evil to my mini me and I feel so lucky to have you as a friend.

Love you!!!

Happy Birthday!

>_< Oops!!!

Dear e-mail subscribers:

Good evening all! I just wanted to apologize because WordPress has decided to be really dumb to the point where it published a post that wasn’t supposed to go up until 2/24. So disregard that ENTIRE post please!! The actual one will be up on 2/24. So very sorry!

Thanks for your patience!!

Review: Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins

Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins

Goodreads Description:

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch. That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth. Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers. But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

Why did I pick this?

It’s pretty obvious. I read the first one and could NOT wait to read the next. The first one I fell in love with right away. I love the covers of all these novels. (of course)

Soooo….what did I think?

If you’ve read and like the first book you’ll absolutely DIE in this one. I freaking LOVED it! Again! Rachel Hawkins did another amazing job with this series.

This book completely keeps you guessing. I had no clue what was going to happen next. I knew the whole book was drawing me in and it seemed like I could not read fast enough. I didn’t want the book to end. Especially the way it did. I felt like I was running towards this HUGE ending to see what happened next….then toppled over the edge of one of the biggest cliffhangers…..ever.

I am so thankful that I only have to wait two months for the next one to come out. If I had to wait let’s say 6 months….I would have been pulling my hair out.

Archer fans and Cal fans will be extremely satisfied in this book. I know I was.

I loved how Sophie is growing through out these novels. She learns new things and starts acting more grown up. Still have the sarcasm which I love. I couldn’t live without some Sophie sarcasm.

Jenna is still one of my most favorite characters and the relationship that she has with Sophie is so precious. They are the perfect duo.

One of the other best parts of this book was the blossoming relationship between Sophie and her Dad. It was so awesome to read/watch. Sophie thought her father didn’t care when in truth it’s the exact opposite.

This series is quickly becoming a personal favorite of mine. I love every single character in these books. Sophie especially. She can always make me laugh. Especially when she interacts with Archer. Those are some of the best lines in the book.

These books are such a great, fun read. I can’t wait to see what happens in the last one. It all comes down to this last moment! *bites nails*

On an honest note….

I know I ramble and I repeat a lot. But these books are seriously becoming a favorite for me. I love books that can make you laugh, cringe, gasp, and melt all at once. These are those books! If you haven’t read them yet, I suggest you do.

The books are quick read but so very worth it!

Yay for quote time!! 🙂

As I stomped across school grounds, all I could see was Cal sitting with my dad in some manly room with leather chairs and dead animals on the wall, chomping on cigars as Dad formally signed me away to him. They probably even high-fived. Okay, so it’s not like either of them are exactly the cigar-and-high-fives type, but still.

“Wow, Cal,” I said feeling a little bit like myself for the first time since I’d walked into this crazy house. “You will be able to have some awesome slumber parties in here. All the other girls are gonna be so jealous.”

My brain was spinning. Demons, missing students…Why had my life suddenly become Nancy Drew mystery from hell?

Go get the books!!! 🙂

I gotta start somewhere…

Welcome to my blog! This is my first official post and I’m reeeeally nervous about it. It’s a weird feeling knowing that some one else is going to read my thoughts or as I call them….my mind wanderings 😉

This blog is mainly for me to have a place to post all my reviews besides on Goodreads. I pride myself on being honest when I do a book review and I hope that people actually start to value my opinion enough to either go grab that book and start reading.

I also wanted this blog because I thought it would be a fun experiment for me to try. I love books and think it’s so necessary to have an active imagination. Reading books, to me, lures your mind to be open in places you never really thought you could go. It’s the most amazing part of a book for me. I can just let go of the world around me and let my mind roam free. I want to be able to share that experience with anyone willing to really listen.

I’m pretty pushy if I want to be 😉

I hope you enjoy what you read on my sparkley new blog (it still has that new-car smell).
