Sexy Summer Saturday 8/18/12

Sexy Summer Saturdays is a weekly post that Hackaroo’s Reviews, Sims-Sational BooksThe Autumn Review, and The Bookish Babe created for fun, to spread the word about sizzling summer reads.

Usually I read a sexy book with my bestie April at Sim Sational Books but we’re both busy this week so we are flying solo. 🙂

This week’s sexy post is from:

Goodreads Description:

For the five sexy rock gods of Sole Regret, finding love is easy, keeping it is hard.

Melanie has no desire to meet the members of the rock band, Sole Regret, but her groupie of a best friend gets them both backstage and then rushes off with the band’s lead singer. Left alone at an after party with a bunch of scary tattooed and pierced metal-heads, sheltered Melanie is relieved when the only normal-looking guy in the room insists on keeping her company.

By the time Melanie discovers that Gabe is the band’s drummer and not as normal as she assumed, she has already made a complete fool of herself. She can’t help but be interested in him, not as a rock star, but as the sexiest man she’s ever encountered. Strangely attracted to his hidden tattoos and body piercing, she wonders what it would be like to spend a night with a bad boy.

Gabe is more than willing to show sweet Melanie there’s more to him than meets the eye. All she has to do is try him. Will they only share a single night of passion? Or will their hearts entangle as quickly as their bodies?

Try Me is the first erotic novella in Olivia Cunning’s One Night with Sole Regret series.

Contains explicit sex, graphic language, and a hot rock star with a naughty and inventive mind.

What did I think?

I first heard about Olivia Cunning through my other bestie, Autumn at The Autumn Review. Let me tell you that Cunning can right some yummy sexy. Seriously.

I read her book Backstage Pass where she takes you on the road with the band The Sinners. You can read my review HERE.

Although I did like Backstage Pass, it was more hardcore than I originally thought. It was sexy, don’t get me wrong, just not exactly my kind of sexy. lol (I’m more of the mild type)

But in Try Me, she does it really well. I was disappointed that this was such a short novella.

I was only a bit wary when I started because it’s another band story so I was worried it would follow the same storyline to a point.

It didn’t. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. To the extreme. Oh my goodness how I wanted my own Gabe. A geek!! Holy crap that makes him higher up on my hotness scale. I love me some geek. Hell, I’m even marrying one. Ha! I crush on musicians hardcore as well. Have you heard of my ENORMOUS crush on the hotness I call Pete Loeffler from Chevelle? No? It’s a huge crush. I love me some guitar players/singers. My fiancee is one of those too btw lol.

The sex is steamy and just made me want to eat Gabe up.

I adore Melanie and think she is adorable. A cute little sex kitten ready to turn into a tigress when need be. I love it.

Since this was a novella, Cunning had to cram a bunch of info and words in a short period of time without losing the reader. She did a beautiful job.

I cannot wait to see what happens in the next installment of this series. I sincerely hope that there is more of Gabe and Malanie because I seriously fell in love with them both.

I encourage you to pick this up and read, read READ!!!

Favorite Quote:

“If you get hungry, order room service,” he said lethargically. “Just charge it to the room.” “What if I get horny?” she asked, threading her fingers through his and holding their combined hands against the center of her chest. “Wake me up.” <—-I lol’ed at that one. Such a guy haha

“My goal is to make you scream my name. Give me what I want, but make me work for it.” <—so HAWT

He smiles and brushed the hair from her sweat-damp cheeks. Kissed her gently. “I’m crushing on you so hard, Melanie Anderson.” <—-so adorable
